When we allow God to guide us, He will take us in ways that will be best for us even when we don’t understand why we are going that way. His perspective is not the same as ours since He knows the beginning from the end. He can direct our steps in a way that is in His perfect will for our lives if we will follow His guidance. If we will just trust God in all things, He will accomplish what is best in our lives. When we are faithful to His plans, souls will have a deeper understanding of the love of God. Our acceptance of God’s path for our lives will allow us to do all that He would have us to do for His glory.
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
Psalm 18:33 (KJV)
Hinds’ feet are the feet of deer-like animals which live in the Middle East. These sure-footed animals can scale nearly sheer cliff walls with apparent ease. They jump and hop across boulders as if they were playing in a peaceful meadow. Making only one miss-step could easily send them down the cliff to their doom. Despite that possibility, they gracefully accept the challenging life which has been given to them. They seem to thrive in their hostile lifestyle.
This is an appropriate comparison with Christians who are living in a sin-cursed society. Each day we are surrounded by worldly habits and temptations which could easily cause us to fall to our doom. But every morning we must accept the fact that it is only by faith in God’s perfect plan that we will survive the pitfalls of the enemy as we navigate through the land- mines of destruction. When we rely on God, He does not remove the harsh terrain. Instead He utilizes it in order to strengthen us, so that we can be the soul winners He would have us to be. With Him working in our lives, others will see that it is possible to maneuver through the maze of trials and temptations in this life. In spite of the difficulties, we can even thrive as a result of them.
If we allow the trials which we face to have their perfect work in our lives, it will strengthen our faith in God. As God empowers us to overcome our difficulties through Him, we begin to realize that by our own strength, we can do nothing. By relying on God, even the impossible is achievable. By allowing God to guide our every move as we step out onto those rocky cliffs by faith, we will be able to achieve the impossible.
