The General Assembly begins on Tuesday, September 1st at 6pm and concludes with the afternoon session on Sunday, September 6th.
For well over 100 hundred years The Church of God from around the world has come together annually in worship, fellowship, and business. 2015 marks the 110th such gathering. Soon after International Youth Camp is complete the new International Tabernacle will open its doors for this week long event. We would love to see you there with us.
"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Revelation 22:17
A time for worship
It is a wonderful feeling to come into the sanctuary and worship together with fellow pilgrims along life's journey. A prayerful and contrite spirit feels even more humbled under the good weight of a sound message from the scripture. The classic hymns and modern chorus' resounding from the walls have a way of making even those working behind the scenes serene in worship. When the people of God come together there should always be a sense of reverence and awe in His house. The assembly is a time for the global church to fill His house with praise. Without worship, fellowship and business will simply be the will of man honoring with lip service. We invite you to come and worship in His presence with us.
A time for fellowship
The anticipation of seeing the international community of the Church together in one place can be felt by all in attendance. Due to distances, the assembly serves as a time to fellowship with those you only get to see once a year and to build relationships with those you have just met. Love and care abounds in the Church at all times, it is a staple of Her nature, but to witness the outpouring of charity and respect that is exhibited at the general assembly can leave a lasting impression on the soul. We encourage all to come and experience this great love and fellowship.
A time for business
With a point of reference extending all the way back to the Council of Jerusalem (Acts 15), the membership of the Church utilize this annual time to bring business before the Church for resolution. Throughout it's history the General Assembly has served as a platform for resolving matters of great concern and import to the people of God. Without fail, The assembly of the Church's members have agreed to pursue the high calling of Christ with diligence in all matters. Settling doctrinal and social questions, promoting the various works of the Church, and understanding the general finances in great detail. These are just a few of the responsibilities laid upon the shoulders of the members of The Church of God.
